I feel very lucky to have such an amazing friendship with fellow book artist Lenett Partlow-Myrick. We showed our work together at the Hamilton Gallery in Baltimore in 2018, and have been conspiring ever since to make it happen again.

We were on the verge of getting a new show at the beautiful Talkin Gallery at Howard Community College when the pandemic hit. Since we wound up holding off for more than two years, we spent the time exploring our relationship and making new art, including a shared piece titled, “Different Lives, One Shared Spine”. As we dug into where we came from, our influences, and our friendship, we realized we had much more in common than we originally realized.

I hope you’ll visit our new show, Dos-à-Dos II: A Celebration of Friendship Through Bookmaking Art, at the Talkin Gallery August 29-November 13. We’ll also host a special family-friendly reception at the gallery on Saturday, October 1, from 2-4 p.m. I hope to see you there, but here are some sneak peeks. 🙂
